Varvakios Market

What can we say: food has always been the way to connect people. The market is named after one of Greece’s national heroes, Ioannis Varvakis, a gentleman pirate. He was a very distinguished member of both Greek and Russian communities, helping in the battles in the Russo-Turkish war in 1770 ́s, as well as aided in the Greek revolution.
