Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library

The Metropolitan Ervin Szabó library seems like a normal library except for one level which is housed in the 19th-century neo-baroque Wenckheim Palace. The palace was restored to its former glory as a national monument when the library’s collection grew too large and they needed to expand. Lucky for us they did and it is now a beautiful place that you can visit to study or just sit and read a book for a while. Once you’re through those gates jump in the elevator and head up to the palace floor. Look around in awe of the intricate painting details, chandeliers and candles everywhere. Every room is a different design and I encourage you to take them all in as you walk around. Make sure you find the room with the spiral staircases and if you fancy a read, there are books in English hidden in the shelves.
