Mercado de San Antoni
The recently renovated Sant Antoni market is an uber vibrant place, filled with local vendors selling a smorgasbord of goods that will you a glimpse into the city’s local food culture. Though all the vendors in the market are spectacular, there are a few spots that have become staple for me to pass through. For cold cuts turn to Casa Sendra, while fruits are Fruteria Parra´s domain. Head to Elie Peixaters which excels at seafood, especially the seafood sashimi which is amazing. Go on a tasting adventure that won’t disappoint! On Sundays, Sant Antoni also hosts one of Europe’s largest open-air book markets, with 78 stalls selling new and secondhand books, comics, stamps, and other collectables.
