Lose yourself in stunning architecture

Like many of the buildings in this area it is a neo-Renaissance construction completed in just five months during 1863. It was designed by famed Hungarian architect Miklos Ybl who was prolific during this period and also designed the famous opera house. The building used to play host to the Hungarian house of representatives before they moved into the current parliament building designed by Imre Steindl. Since 1942 Ybl’s palace has been a centre for Italian culture in Budapest. It houses a library, a cafe and cinema and concert hall to boot! Make sure to also check out the Grof Karoly Alajos Palace and the Grof Andrassy palace which houses Andrássy University.
