For over 100 years the team behind Kouvelos have done a great job in preserving the excellence which helped it win the hearts of the locals. The interior oozes authenticity, with detailed mosaic walls which create a real homelike ambience. They even have a charming courtyard, so you can wine and dine outside, perfect on a summer night. Not to forget the food and drink, so high quality and scrumptious, it’s as if it has been delivered to your table from the gods above. Kouvelos is hands down one of my favourite spots in Athens, and I’m not alone, so as you can imagine it can get quite busy. Although not required, I would advise booking in advance, especially if you want to get a seat in the courtyard. The ambience hasn’t changed, but the menu is constantly updated, so you’re going to be spoilt for choice.
