You will probably notice this incredible mural that is looming above the port of Piraeus, welcoming sailors and travellers once they reach the mainland, but also farewelling those who are about to leave. This breath-taking piece of art was created by famous visual artist “Ino”, another graduate of Athens School of Fine Arts that decided to spread his talent across the city and decorate it with his unique and characteristic large scale creations. In his works he features fragmented forms, like the ones shown here of the old man and the child, using photorealistic effects and grayscale colour palette. Ino is the most internationally recognised Greek street artist, and his identity remains quite a mystery. One thing we know is that Piraeus is actually his hometown, so you can understand the importance of this piece to him.
