The teal colored shop is an oasis of ambience on an otherwise sleepy corner of Szövetség utca. They do a range of foods, but the focus is firmly on the perfect, spine tingling, other worldly croissants, with varying specials over time. Choose from duck liver paté, prosciutto with fig jam and my beloved pistacchio, plus a smorgasbord of constantly changing inspirations. Each morning 8 or so croissants stand like gleaming sentinels behind the massive glass windows of Freyja. And soon they are eagerly gobbled up by an already swelling list of regular customers. The shop is also perfect for getting some work done with its refreshing plant life, brilliant beams of natural light, and large communal tables to post up for an hour or two. Croissants are 800 HUF each and they also do wonderful speciality coffees. Audacious concept, flawless execution.
