Draughts Bar is the original don dada of board game cafes, bringing the concept to London in 2014. This branch in waterloo is my favourite. Tucked in a railway arch underneath the iconic graffiti-laden Leake Street Tunnels, it’s a stylish haunt that has a great ambience. You get a table, choose a game from their board game menu, which is pretty huge, with all kind of well known and obscure games to choose from. Once you’ve chosen your game, you can look at their other menu, and order a selection of bites and sips. So you can eat, drink and try and unleash your inner competitor.
