David Bowie’s Birthplace

David Bowie went onto become one of the biggest names in music, rising to fame in the 1970s with hits such as Space Oditty, Ziggy Stardust and Let’s Dance. As well as inspiring music for years to come, Bowie was celebrated for breaking social norms, coming out as gay and later as bi-sexual as well as rocking with his gender-bending outfits and wild make-up. While this house may look ordinary, it was at this very location he was born in 1947 as David Robert Jones. He lived here with his family until the age of 6 when they moved to Bromley, in south-east London.
