Dandár Thermal Baths

Dandár is one of the more low-key and cheaper baths in Budapest that has a mainly local crowd. It doesn’t have a Turkish dome or the pizzazz of Széchenyi or Gellért. But all the better for experienced bathers. The water is warm, sulphury and so damn nice. The simple brick exterior belies what lies beyond: an indoor section of three temperature gradients (flooded in purple light during the evening) and a newly renovated outdoor section that consists of two perfect pools of pleasure. There is the unfathomably cheap option of 2000 HUF for the indoor section alone (3 pools and a sauna). However for 500 HUF more you gain access to the outdoor section and an extra sauna, steam room and cold pool. This bath house lets you bring beer or buy from the bar making it an unparalleled place to start the night
